My approach

If it's not good enough for me, it's not good enough for my tenants.

Every Herring Homes property is fully upgraded and modernised before a tenant moves in. I own every home I let, so I have a long-term interest in keeping them in excellent condition — not just at the point of letting, but throughout the tenancy.

My standard of work

I refurbish each property myself, which means I control the quality at every stage. I don't cut corners on materials, finishes, or tradespeople — if I wouldn't be happy living there, I won't let it.

That means new kitchens and bathrooms where needed, fresh decoration throughout, and attention to the details that make a home feel cared for — not just presentable.

What we do

01

Electrical safety

All properties are inspected and upgraded to current electrical standards. Where necessary, I replace consumer units, rewire circuits, and ensure every installation is certified by a qualified electrician before letting.

02

Heating and boilers

I replace ageing or inefficient boilers with modern, reliable units. Every property has a full gas safety check and a valid certificate. I want tenants to be warm and for heating to work without issue.

03

Kitchens and bathrooms

Where the existing kitchen or bathroom isn't up to standard, I replace it entirely. I fit practical, well-made units with quality finishes — designed to last and easy to keep clean.

04

Decoration and finishes

Every property is freshly decorated before letting. I use durable, neutral finishes that look good and stand up to everyday living — not the cheapest option, but the right one.

05

Structural and fabric

I address any damp, roof, or structural issues before a tenant moves in. A well-maintained fabric means fewer problems down the line for everyone.

06

Ongoing maintenance

My interest in the property doesn't end at the point of letting. I respond promptly to maintenance issues and keep properties in good order throughout the tenancy.

A home worth living in

I'm not a large agency managing hundreds of properties. I own a small number of homes and take pride in each one. That means tenants get a landlord who is genuinely invested in the quality of the property — and who will keep it that way.
